Job title: AI Software Engineer

Job location: Brussels, Belgium Hybrid (At least 40% including one day per week on site in Brussels)

Job Contract: Contractor assignment, starting for 3 months, potentially extendable

Job weekly hours: 40 hrs./week

Mission

Support the evolution and adoption of the internal AI platform of the Design & Value Streams Acceleration department.

As a full-stack AI software engineer, you translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. You develop and validate proposed solutions with stakeholders, onboard and support users to drive adoption, and provide implementation guidance.

The internal AI platform supports designers, marketers, communicators, product teams, agile coaches, scrum masters, and other digital professionals through AI assistance, skills, knowledge repositories, project workspaces, and integrations with enterprise platforms.

Expected outcome: develop and test the platform functionality, increase its adoption and business value by ensuring that the right solutions are delivered, validated, and effectively used by end users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate solutions and functionality.

  • Onboard users and teams to new AI capabilities and ways of working.

  • Facilitate demonstrations, workshops, one-on-one hands on, and feedback sessions.

  • Support users in adopting and effectively leveraging AI assistants, skills, and workspaces.

  • Measure and collect user feedback to continuously improve the platform.

  • Translate business needs into user stories, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and process flows.

  • Define functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Support backlog refinement.

  • Assess AI capabilities of internal and external platforms and formulate recommendations for future enhancements.

  • Maintain clear documentation and ensure traceability from business need to delivered solution.


Environment

The internally developed platform relies on Microsoft Foundry/OpenAI, MCP and Fast API.

Profile:

Technical skills

  • Good understanding of LLM harnesses and agent workflows

    LLM tooling and integrations: familiar with MCP, RAG, structured outputs, and prompt engineering

  • Understand CI/CD pipelines and investigate build or deployment failures. Familiarity with Azure, Kubernetes, and Terraform is valuable.

  • Code review, development, improvement, and optimization. Development experience in Python and TypeScript is a plus.

  • Ability to design test scenarios and automated evaluations of model behavior, tool use, and end-to-end workflows. Rigorous solution validation skills.

  • Logs and debugging: Read harness logs and agent execution traces, inspect model responses and tool inputs/outputs, and investigate issues involving context, token usage, latency, or failed tool calls.

  • Proven experience as Functional Analyst.

  • Requirements engineering, workflows and process modelling skills.

  • Digital user experience, web sites and app design, marketing, content design, collaboration platforms, design thinking practices. Knowing Figma is a plus.

  • Experience working in Agile environments. Knowing Agile project management platform such as Target process is a plus.

  • Demonstrate excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Proven track in stimulating user adoption, onboarding and supporting users.

  • Ability to quickly understand business challenges and translate them into actionable solutions.
