Within this Proximus’ newly created center of excellence for AI and Cybersecurity, the mission of the Security Management and CSIRT teams is to protect Proximus, its customers, its business, its operations and reputation against external and internal threats.

Within the Security Management team, we are looking for a Medior/Senior Security Engineer to support one of our Affiliates Proximus Media House (PMH).
As a Medior/Senior Security Engineer, you are responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the organization's cybersecurity posture.
You focus on both proactive and reactive security measures to protect PMH’s digital and media infrastructure to meet the demands of PMH’s ambitions: Live, broadcasting, playout, content management, media operations, and more.
You will work across traditional IT systems and specialized media and broadcast networks.
Collaboration with innovation teams, project management, technology teams, and external vendors is a daily aspect of the role.
You proactively propose, develop, and maintain future-proof security solutions that align with PMH’s strategic goals while ensuring operational effectiveness and business continuity.
Your Role:
Design and implement secure network, system, and application architectures aligned with industry best practices.
Perform continuous vulnerability management and patch management.
Define and enforce firewall, network, endpoint, and cloud security policies.
Collaborate with the internal Proximus CSIRT to enhance detection.
Evaluate and test security tools and recommend enhancements.
Collaborate with project and infrastructure teams to embed security requirements in design and deployment phases.
Maintain compliance with relevant security standards (e.g., ISO27001, NIS2, GDPR).
Support internal and external audits, including documentation and remediation tracking.
Develop and deliver internal security training and awareness initiatives.
Participate in change and incident management processes to ensure secure implementations.
You are occasionally available to handle critical security tasks or incidents outside of standard business hours (estimated 2–3 times per year).
Your Profile:
3–10 years of experience in cybersecurity roles (Medior: 3+, Senior: 7+)
Certified in one or more: CISSP, CISM, OSCP, CEH, CCSP, or equivalent is a plus
Certified in one or more: CCNA, CCNP, Arista ACE, Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE, Fortinet NSE 4-7 or equivalent is a plus
Solid understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection, and encryption technologies
Experience securing hybrid infrastructures (on-prem, cloud, media-specific systems)
Knowledge of broadcast media environments and video-over-IP is a strong asset
Demonstrated skills in incident detection, analysis, and response
Experience with Cisco, Checkpoint and Fortinet Firewall, Arista security-enabled networking products is a strong plus
Familiarity with automation/scripting for security (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Team player with the ability to work independently
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Fluent in English, with conversational ability in French or Dutch preferred
Based in Belgium, hybrid working 3 days/week at the office.
