Job Description: Project Manager

Company: Fiberklaar

Job Purpose

As an FttH (Fiber to the Home) Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful rollout of multiple fiber optic projects across Flanders. You will ensure that each project is delivered within the set timeframe, available budget, and agreed quality standards. Serving as the vital link between design, preparation, execution, and delivery, you will manage both internal teams and external construction partners.

You will be the driving force behind project execution, monitoring progress, risks, and quality. You will report progress directly at regular intervals and work closely with stakeholders such as local authorities, utility companies, and internal departments. Your leadership and communication skills will be crucial to getting and keeping all involved parties aligned.

Key Performance Areas

  • Project Delivery: Hold ultimate responsibility for the timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery of assigned FttH projects.

  • Project Planning: Establish a detailed project plan for each project—including scheduling, milestones, and deliverables—and track it meticulously.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Align the project plan with construction partners, internal departments (design, finance, contract management, communication), and external stakeholders (municipalities, utility companies).

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all construction activities comply with applicable safety regulations and legal standards.

  • End-to-End Execution: Lead the entire project lifecycle from initiation to handover, making necessary adjustments based on progress analyses.

  • Handover to Operations: Manage the civil and administrative handover of projects to the Operations Team, including complete documentation (as-built files, permits, technical data sheets).

  • Stakeholder Relations: Maintain an active dialogue with stakeholders, regularly gauge their satisfaction, and proactively initiate improvement actions.

  • Reporting: Provide clear and regular reporting on progress, costs, and risks using standardized formats (e.g., Bouwstraat, Operational Dashboard).

Required Competencies and Skills

Technical and Operational Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of FttH networks, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects.

  • Experience with project management methodologies (such as Prince2, PMI, or Agile).

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret technical plans, budgets, and progress reports.

  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding telecom, safety, and public works.

Management and Leadership

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple parallel projects.

  • Decisiveness and problem-solving abilities in complex, dynamic environments.

  • Leadership and people management: Ability to motivate teams and partners to achieve results together.

Communication and Stakeholder Management

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Diplomacy and negotiation skills when dealing with local authorities, utility companies, and contractors.

  • Ability to build bridges between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Personal Attributes

  • Proactive, result-oriented, and resilient under pressure.

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.

  • A strong sense of responsibility and ownership over assigned projects.
