Job description:

Senior Data Quality Developer 

Do you have a passion for working with data?  Do you enjoy working in a team with a common objective? 

The Proximus Data Quality Centre of Excellence is looking for a senior data quality developer to help build and maintain its Data Quality Framework and Data Quality Tool.  

You would work within a team of analysts & developers in an agile environment, implement and maintain data quality solutions using standard methodologies & best practices. Your mission is to enable data quality management of all data in Proximus! 

What will you do? 

  • You will be part of the Data Quality domain, responsible for data quality management (measuring, solving & preventing data quality issues). 

  • You understand and estimate feasibility and workload of business requests around the development of data quality checks and translate them into a technical solution.  

  • You develop data quality checks using our data quality methodologies, within the Data Quality Tool and Framework using Python/Spark. 

  • You guide a development team to use the right best practices and standard methodologies. 

  • You support IT migration projects with a data quality component by managing the deliverables requested. 

  • You work in a multilingual team (FR/NL/EN) in an agile way of working. 

  • You are responsible for the communication towards the team, the business and other related stakeholders of your deliverables throughout the delivery cycle. 

  • You document your data quality checks in the Proximus data governance tool Collibra. 

  • You commit on deliveries to be completed in 2-week sprints and contribute to intake, planning, prioritization, peer-review, and retrospective meetings. 

  • You guarantee that the architecture & solution behind the deliverables within the Data Quality Tool are meeting the internal ambition (e.g., availability, OLA’s, daily run time, refresh time…) to deliver business value and adapt when & where needed. 

  • You follow and implement best practices & development guidelines of the data quality delivery team. 

  • You operate within a release cycle across multiple environments, using CI/CD & other best practices. 


Key Responsibilities within the Data Quality Domain

  • Joint-Venture End-to-End Audit Fiber Deployment

  • Load and integrate data files received from joint ventures into a consolidated data model for further processing.

  • Implement reconciliation rules defined by analysts and business stakeholders.

  • Produce consolidated datasets that include issue categorization and comments.

  • Build and maintain audit trails to track data evolution over time.

  • Create statistical and reporting tables to support business users and reporting activities.

  • Conduct impact analyses and implement required changes in response to evolving business requirements.

  • Monitor data processing chains and job dependencies, identifying issues, and performing root cause analysis.

  • Query complex structured datasets and extract relevant insights.


Moderns end-to-end audit

  • Integrate data from multiple Proximus source systems, requiring a strong understanding of the underlying databases and data models.

  • Support data quality and data cleansing initiatives by developing consistent and reliable queries that provide actionable insight to stakeholders.


Internet of Things (IoT) - XSO database

  • Audit a range of services and their associated characteristics using a structured metadata-driven approach.

  • Design and optimize data processing jobs to efficiently handle large data volumes and ensure high performance.


LOM (Location Master) – Geospatial Data Comparison with Data Warehouse

Perform data quality and consistency checks between the Location Master and the corresponding Data Warehouse data for:

Geographic Addresses

Buildings and their addresses

Building units and their corresponding buildings and geo information

What should be your skills? 

  • Master’s degree in business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or an equivalent work experience & strong affiliation with IT & Data. 

  • 8+ years of experience in developing and rolling out IT-solutions with a strong data component.  

  • Experience in the Telco sector is a plus. 

  • Must have technical skills: SQL, Python, Spark, Bash.

  • Developing and maintaining and end to end reconciliation on data shared between Proximus and joint ventures.

  • Loading the distinct files sent by the joint ventures and integrate them into a data model for further processing.

  • Implement the rules stated by the analyst and the users for implementing reconciliations.

  • Produce a final table that will incorporate all the data together with issues categorization via a comments table.

  • Create an audit history that will allow to watch the evolution of the data.

  • Create statistics table that will ease the tasks of the users that do reporting.

  • Doing impact analysis and implement necessary changes following requirements change.

  • Follow the whole chain of job dependencies and identify possible errors with root cause analysis.

  • Ability to query complex structured data and extract pertinent information.

  • Nice to have technical skills: Common data libraries for python such as Pandas, CI/CD pipelines and experience with GitHub/GitLab. 

  • Good understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment best practices. 

  • Advanced analytical, problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to participate in discussions between groups of people. 

  • Joint-Venture end-to-end audit:

  • Ingestion of csv files in the DQT environment.
