A Senior Software Engineer's role will be pivotal in driving innovation. His/her expertise will be paramount in translating intricate business and IT requisites into meticulously crafted code. In this capacity, he/she will play a crucial part in propelling our solutions to new levels of excellence. His/her command over robustness, high-performance, and scalability will be put to use as you employ agile (SCRUM) and test-driven methodologies, crafting solutions that transcend conventional standards.

Responsibilities

• Technical Ingenuity: Collaborate closely with dedicated analysts to synthesize intricate technical blueprints, effectively weaving in business requisites to craft sophisticated solutions. Your talent for finding ingenious resolutions will set you apart as a technical visionary.

• Guidance and Leadership: Assume ownership of assigned projects, orchestrating sub-teams to ensure the punctual and impeccable delivery of results. Your adept leadership will shine as you guide testers and uphold the principles of Continuous Integration and Delivery.

• Operational Excellence: Assume a pivotal role during implementation phases, ensuring seamless integration of releases while adhering to the Proximus change & release management framework. In moments of urgency, your engineering prowess will come to the fore, providing insightful guidance to the operations team.

Profile

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience, your mastery in continuous integration, automated testing & building, functional programming, and agile (Scrum) methodologies forms the bedrock of your skillset.

• Coding Expertise: Your finesse in developing backend Java applications, coupled with your adeptness in version control systems such as GIT using branching and merging strategies, showcases your coding virtuosity.

• Someone who has experience with GitHub Copilot or similar coding assistant

Hands-on experience with Java 17+ development, including modern language features, performance optimization, and enterprise-grade application design.

Proven experience delivering digital transformation initiatives, modernizing legacy systems, and driving scalable cloud-native solutions.

Champion of Innovation: Your familiarity with the Apache Camel integration framework (nice add-on) and Spring framework and Spring boot adds depth to your toolkit. A command of software quality metrics, further elevates your capabilities.

A Zeal for Learning: While familiarity with the Openshift Container Platform is advantageous, it is your unquenchable thirst for knowledge that truly sets you apart.

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in English (both spoken and written) is mandatory, while proficiency in French and/or Dutch provides a distinct advantage.
